Living Canvas, a groundbreaking WebGL experience, transcends the boundaries of visual spectacle by demonstrating the incredible versatility of WebGL technology. Our ambition was to seamlessly merge real-time data with illustrative 2D and 3D visuals, creating a dynamic and engaging platform.
What sets Living Canvas apart is its integration of live weather data sourced directly from publicly available APIs, transforming users from passive spectators into active participants. Through an intuitive interface, users shape their real-time experience, adding an interactive layer that sets Living Canvas apart as a cutting-edge and immersive digital experience, recognized and celebrated by industry leaders at Awwwards, FWA, and CSS.

Research & Conceptualization
The inception of Living Canvas was driven by a desire to explore the full potential of WebGL technology, aiming to blend real-time data with intricate 2D and 3D visuals for a truly dynamic user experience.
Challenge: The primary challenge lay in harnessing live weather data and integrating it with visual elements to create an interactive platform where users could influence their experience in real-time, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with WebGL.
UX/UI Design & Concept Art
My responsibilities encompassed designing the visual content and the UX/UI framework, ensuring an engaging and intuitive user journey through the Living Canvas.
Challenge: Crafting a seamless interface that could accommodate the complex interplay of live data and visuals while maintaining user accessibility and engagement demanded innovative design strategies and a deep understanding of WebGL capabilities.
User Testing & Iteration
This crucial phase focused on refining the interactive experience, guided by user feedback to enhance the platform’s responsiveness and visual appeal.
Challenge: Adjusting the application to smoothly incorporate real-time data without compromising performance or user experience presented technical hurdles, requiring iterative design and development to perfect the user interaction model.
Integration & Marketing
Following the successful development and launch of Living Canvas, my role expanded to include the creation of marketing content and the promotion of our groundbreaking WebGL experience.
Challenge: Developing compelling marketing strategies and materials that accurately conveyed the innovative aspects of Living Canvas, while engaging a broad audience, was essential to gain recognition, culminating in accolades from Awwwards, FWA, and CSS Design Awards.
